G.O.O.D. Music

Possibly one of my favorite new artists (directly behind Big K.R.I.T.) dropped his new mixtape Royal Flush 2 yesterday. This artist is CyHi Da Prynce, a G.O.O.D. Music signee. CyHi has been on such songs such as "I Wish (Remix)", "So Appalled", "Looking For Trouble" and XV's "All For Me". He has also released songs like "Sideways", "Ring Bellz" and "Buncha Rounds" all off of Royal Flush. Supposedly I do not give new artists a chance. Well here is one of my favorite new comers, and a rapper who I look forward to listening to down the road.

So enjoy this new tape Royal Flush 2 and keep supporting G.O.O.D. Music. (F.Y.I. Finally Famous: The Album has leaked)

Party Starter

Going over a friend's house for some drinks one night; we all get to his house, get out of our cars, start heading to the door to go in, and Chase Alexander says, "Y'all ready to get weird tonight or whaattt??". =l After ignoring, yet silently being weirded out by this statement, he finally showed all of us why he said it.
It's from a show called Workaholics, which can be seen on Wednesday nights at 10:30pm on Comedy Central. All I can say is, very funny...no real way to describe it. I would say, The Office, only more so...Well, however you'd describe it, here's a clip of that weird statement and the hilarious response to it. It's about the first 13 seconds of the clip, but the rest is funny as well. Check it out, Enjoy.

Johnny Polygon: What Sadness

Great track, really simple, but really great. Video fits it perfectly. No big or cheap frills. Just a man, an umbrella, and some fake rain. Enjoy

We're Back

We fell off for a bit, but we're working on bringing some more posts to this thing. You know, just in case somebody is actually reading this thing haha. Now how about a quick laugh?

Call Him What You Want

For the past year and a half now I have been listening to Claudio Mack-Solomon/5allenNickel (TreVar JaVrael Simmons) Aka. (Varistotle, Verbal Assault Rifle, VAR, etc.) Whatever name he goes by (Shit I don't even know anymore) the man has been on his fuckin grind.

About a year ago my dear friend /bones\,B1S told me to listen to a few track by VAR. After scrolling through his I-Tunes listening to "Fear Free Vol 1." and some other tracks, my thoughts were, "Hes iight." I've been known not to give new artists respect. But I was wrong.
At the time I really wanted some features on my album (Everyday Is A-Day) so I reached out to VAR trying to get a feature. I eventually gave up but continued asking and reminding. It still hasen't happened, but thats another story.

After about a year and a half now I truly feel that I know who VAR is. We have had many discussions about music, such as artists, topics, who's better than who, and so on. I eventually began finding out about VAR's personal life, and was able to connect what he was saying in his music to his personal life. This man has been through a lot, and still is. Over this past year VAR has been sending me tracks of his, almost weekly. A track he sent a while back entitled "Touch The Sky" was on constant repeat for a month. A track off of his first mixtape entitled "Stone Cold" also tells about his personal life. Situations with his baby's mother, his daughter, his mom, and his uncle ll single handedly made me respect this artist.
VAR as I still like to call him is from Detroit, Michigan. But he is not your average Detroit rapper. He covers all topics you can think of. His voice just hits the beat and he delivers a monster verse everytime. Since I am great friends with /bones\ he was able to snag a verse from VAR on "Darkside Of The Moon" off of /bones\ album "High Streets." /bones\ let me hear the track, and after listening, I was stunned. I could not believe the delivery, flow, and content on the track. VAR did his thing. VAR has promised me numerous release dates for his projects, and truthfully I could care a less. For as young as this rapper is he has made a SHIT LOAD of music. But I do believe his new project "Holy Smoke Vol. 3 (The Death Of God's Gun)" will drop in October 2011.
Check out VAR's music here I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Another track that has personally hit me and I play on constant repeat is "Need Some Sleep."

Although I have never met VAR personally i feel that the Russel Maddox/VAR day is drawing closer and closer. Support VAR music, a truly talented artist. Good things are happening in the music industry, and artist like VAR are making them happen. Keep up the good work homie.

Go For It!

It's apparent that you only live one life, so why live it with regrets? There are so many things that can, or can't happen, by only one action. The point is, if an opportunity arises, you should definitely take it. People are afraid to mess up, get rejected, or simply get hurt. But you are doing all that when you don't go for what it is you truly want. When I was a little kid I was always afraid to ask my dad if I could have something, simply because I didn't want to hear, "NO". Until one day I told my mom and she told me, "The worst he can say is no, and you just won't get what you want. But, he could also say yes, and you will get what you want." That made me realize that there is no point in being afraid to hear no, we all have to hear it sometimes. But if I always stayed afraid to ask for what I wanted, think of all the times I would've missed out on when he told me yes.
You may be afraid to ask that person you've been admiring out, going to explore your dreams, or even giving up the sureness of what you know to go into a situation where you don't know anything. And whether it works out great for you or not, at least you will never go through life thinking "what could have been...".
Even if things don't turn out the way you would like them to, you shouldn't regret doing what you did, because it is then experience. Life is all about experience and the first step to experience life, is to take a chance. So take a chance with yourself and whatever you're afraid of to possibly experience something amazing. Look at it as you either getting what you want and learning through that, or not getting what you want and learning a life lesson. After all, what's the worst that could happen? Someone tells you no, or...you could be told, YES.

Live Life.

Summer Life

It's the summer for everyone! Minus those who made the sad decision to take summer classes, of course. This is about the second week we've had great weather, so what better way to celebrate? Hit the beach! I admit, I am usually not one for the beach...don't get me wrong, I love seeing that picturesque sunset illuminating the blue water as it pushes up against the sand...but I am not down for the mosquitoes, beaming sunlight, and horrid allergies. However, you will still find my yellow a** frolicking in the grass of a sandy beach!

For three days straight last week, my buddies and I hit Stoney Creek up (nice little spot in Shelby Township if you're ever around these parts).
It was a great time each day. Not too hot, not too cold; footballs; frisbees; and cold drinks. Fortunately at Stoney, there are not many cops around, so you can be left to your fun, but still be smart about it. We only had about five of us each visit, but it was still a good time because there were quite a bit of other people there. Although it looked like a lot of slutty, immature, hipster high school kids, we got some good laughs out of it. So get off of your a**, grab some friends, and go live that beach life this summer!
